If you're heading downtown, consider taking your dog to Bark Park Central, located underneath an overpass of the central expressway. In addition, the overpass provides plenty of shade for you and your dogs, so you can enjoy even the hottest day at this park without feeling overheated.
If you're looking for a day outdoors with your dog, which is also fun and educational, consider stopping by the Dallas Heritage Village. The 20-acre village grounds include historic homes and structures dating as far back as 1840 and are dog friendly. When you're there, make sure to check out the 1860's living farmstead, which includes fully costumed docents who provide historical reenactments of life on a farm in the 19th century.
