Ford consistently pushes the auto industry limits, setting a new bar every year. From introducing the all-electric Mustang Mach-E crossover in 2021 to bringing back the Bronco by popular demand and adding a full-hybrid F150 trim, Ford continues to lead the way into the future for car, truck, and SUV manufacturing. However, sitting at the top hasn't made Ford complacent either. In 2022, Ford plans on releasing three new all-electric vehicles while still finding ways to enhance its existing lineup. Let's take a closer look at what to expect from Ford in 2022.

Ford plans on releasing its all-new, standard full-hybrid pickup truck, the Maverick, in fall 2021. The Maverick boasts a roomy interior loaded with cutting-edge technology and a customizable bed to go along with its powerful hybrid engine. Ford labels the Maverick a compact truck. Still, the Maverick can seat up to five passengers in comfort and tow up to 4,000 pounds when properly equipped. It also features a 4.5-foot bed with a 1,500-pound payload capacity.

The Maverick comes standard with front-wheel drive, and its hybrid powertrain anticipates a 40 mpg city rating. You can opt for an all-wheel-drive version and a 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine. Equipped with a multi-position tailgate and other intelligent storage solutions, the Maverick appears poised to take the full-hybrid truck market by storm.

The value-packed XL trim uses a 2.5-liter full-hybrid engine and Ford's new FLEXBED system that includes two 12-volt wires that power everything from a mini-fridge to a tv. Your in-vehicle tech runs through the 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support. Two USB ports let you connect and charge, plus you get a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot and FordPass connectivity.

Moving to the XLT trim gets you 17-inch painted aluminum wheels, a power locking tailgate, and wiper-activated headlights. You get new interior color options on the XLT trim, and the bed adds cubby storage and 10 tie-downs.

The top-of-the-line Lariat comes with premium features like ActiveX seats in Desert Brown, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, and ambient lighting. Lariat models have a 6-inch productivity screen and a keyless entry push-button start system. It rolls on stylish 18-inch machined aluminum wheels with painted pockets.

2022 E-Transit

The all-electric 2022 E-Transit van will launch in late 2021 and change the way businesses build their fleet. Already the best-selling commercial van in the industry, E-Transit models add all-electric power to the versatile van. You can choose between three roof heights and body lengths, plus you have the chassis cab and cutaway options you've come to know.

Ford didn't sacrifice quality or toughness to go all-electric. The 2022 E-Transit underwent all the rigorous testing of its gas counterpart, so you can rely upon the E-Transit to perform. Like every Transit model purchased from Ford, you have access to one of 13 upfitters located near Ford's Kansas City plant that builds the E-Transit. Creating the perfect commercial van for your business has never been easier and more efficient.

With access to over 2,100 Ford dealerships with EV certification and 600 dealerships dedicated to commercial vehicles, you can confidently operate your E-Transit, knowing Ford has your back. You also have access to over 16,000 charging stations, so you'll always have the power you need. In addition, your payment info automatically syncs when you plug in your E-Transit for charging at these stations, making it simpler to manage and track your purchases.

Ford Telematics data revealed the average commercial van travels 74 miles in a day. That's why Ford designed the E-Transit with a 126-mile range. Every E-Transit comes with a 2.4-kW onboard power station that you can plug your tools and electronics into and eliminates the need for an inverter. E-Transit low-roof vans can haul up to 3,800 pounds. The payload capacity on the chassis cab increases to 4,250 pounds, and the cutaway tops out at 4,290 pounds.

Ford thought of everything, including a more functional interior. By utilizing a rotary shift dial and replacing the manual parking brake with an electric brake with the button on the dash, walk-through access to the rear improves dramatically.

With less scheduled maintenance, less noise, and zero emissions, the only thing holding you back is you. You can contact the Fleet Department at Planet Ford Dallas for ordering information.

2022 Ford F-150 Lightning

Ford didn't stop with the full-hybrid Maverick. Instead, they took the F-150 to the next level by adding the all-electric F-150 Lightning. Now you can have the legendary power and performance of the F-150 combined with the efficiency of the all-electric powertrain in the Lightning.

Taking things a step further, Ford added backup power to its home charging station. This intelligent system can provide full power to charge your Lightning at home should your home's power get disconnected from the grid due to inclement weather or some other emergency power outage. Full power charging lasts up to three days. If you ration power, you can extend this to up to 10 days.

The enhanced onboard power system delivers 9.6-kW of power through 11 different outlets. You have four 120-volt outlets in the front trunk, two 120-volt outlets in the cab, and four more in the bed. Plus, you get a 240-volt outlet in the bed to power larger equipment.

New Blue Cruise technology allows for hands-free driving on over 100,000 miles of North American roads. FordPass connectivity now features the Power My Trip app. Now you can plan your drive with convenient charging stations along the way. The system factors everything from your current charge, towing, and payload to get you to your destination efficiently and without worry.
