The 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning is available in four trim levels. Here's some more information about each trim you can choose from:

Pro

The base trim level for the 2023 F-150 Lightning is the Pro trim. This model has 18-inch wheels with black high-gloss pockets and dual electric motors, giving it a sleek appearance and increased environmental sustainability. It includes various tech features, such as AdvanceTrac with Roll Stability Control, an SOS Post-Crash Alert System, and a push-button start.

With multiple driving modes, including Normal, Sport, Tow/Haul, and Off-Road, you can take the F-150 Lightning Pro almost anywhere and enjoy a smooth ride. You'll also have Ford Co-Pilot 360 2.0, which includes numerous safety features, such as a lane-keeping system, reverse sensing system, and pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking.

XLT

The next trim in the 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning line is the XLT. This model includes all the same exciting features as the Pro trim with the addition of a few more luxurious perks. For example, you can upgrade the safety system to Ford CoPilot 360 Assist 2.0, which adds even more safety features. You can also opt for Pro Trailer Hitch Assist and Pro Trailer Backup Assist, which are ideal if you frequently tow precious cargo or equipment.

The XLT trim also gives you the choice of standard wheels or larger 20-inch dark carbonized gray alloy wheels.

Lariat

The Lariat is the third trim in this line and is even more impressive than the XLT. This model comes with larger wheels as standard, so you'll get the carbonized gray 20-inch alloy wheels immediately. You'll also enjoy a power tailgate with unique signature rear lighting and a tailgate step with a work surface, making it simple to transform your ride into a mobile workspace.

Other upgrades in this trim include heated side mirrors with integrated turn signals, 9.6 kW Pro Power Onboard, and a sporty Gray-ion fine Satin Metallic geometric grille with signature front lighting.

Platinum

The Platinum certainly earns its place as the most opulent trim available for the F-150 Lightning. It includes everything you get with the Lariat trim and even more upgrades to enjoy. This model comes automatically equipped with an extended-range battery, meaning you can drive for even longer than previous trims that have only a standard-range battery. You'll also get larger 22-inch wheels that have ebony black painted pockets and Ford BlueCruise 1.0 with Active Park Assist 2.0.

You won't have to worry if you forget your key because the Platinum gives you the capability to use your mobile phone to unlock your vehicle.

Ford F-150 Lightning vs. GMC Hummer EV

Here's a comparison of some of the top features of the 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning and 2023 GMC Hummer EV:

Exterior and Performance

The exterior of the 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning is striking, with a sporty appearance and updated features. All trims also include a Mega Power Frunk, which is an additional trunk located in the front of the vehicle, giving you even more room for cargo than usual. Higher trims also come with a moonroof, providing you with a great view while on the road. Models with a standard range battery can achieve 76 MPGe in the city and 63 MPGe on the highway, with the extended range battery reaching 78 MPGe in the city and 63 MPGe on the highway.

The 2023 GMC Hummer EV comes in a variety of colors, including Meteorite Metallic, Void Black, and Deep Aurora Metallic. The Hummer EV's fuel economy isn't as impressive as the F-150 Lightning's, as it achieves 51 MPGe in the city and 43 MPGe on the highway. If you opt for the highest Hummer EV trim, you can get removable roof panels and off-roading equipment to prepare you for multi-terrain drives.

Interior

The interior of the F-150 Lightning is studded with luxury, complete with an outside temperature display and a manual tilt/telescoping steering wheel. On higher trim levels, you'll also enjoy heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and a universal garage door opening. You can also upgrade the steering wheel to a power tilt/telescoping version with a memory setting, which returns it to your desired driving position every time you get in the car.

The Hummer EV also comes with many exciting interior features. This includes a 13.4-inch infotainment display and the Super Cruise hands-free driving system by GM. It doesn't have as many luxuries as the F-150 Lightning, but it does use moon-themed accents, such as a moon-boot footprint on the dead pedal, to add some whimsy and style.

Towing Capacity

Trim levels of the Ford F-150 Lightning with a standard range battery can tow up to 7,700 pounds, while those with the extended range battery have a maximum towing capacity of 10,000 pounds. This means you can bring along your jet skis, all-terrain vehicles, or other recreational cargo.

The maximum towing capacity for the 2023 GMC Hummer EV is 7,500 pounds. This is less powerful than the F-150 Lightning, though you can still tow smaller cargo and vehicles, such as a trailer or camper, making camping or off-roading trips a breeze.
