Ford Super Duty models are mostly divided into three sizes: F-250, F-350, and F-450. Each size has six trim level options: the XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, and Limited. The all-new exterior stands out with aesthetic and practical changes, such as the new grille designs for improved engine cooling. Long side vents lower the air pressure under the hood, improving aerodynamics. All trim levels now come with LED headlights, and signature "C-clamp" lighting gives the front end a wide, confident appearance.
The New STX, Sport, and Black Appearance Packages offer distinctive styles and personas for your Ford truck, adding new body trim, wheel styles, and color options. On F-250 or F-350 trucks with four-wheel drive single rear wheels, the new XL Off-Road Package adds tough 33-inch tires, a higher air dam, water-fording axle vent tubes, skid plates, and an electronic locking rear differential.
Consider the Tremor Off-Road Package for rock-crawl mode, front-end lift, a specially tuned suspension, 35-inch Goodyear tires, a Dana front axle with a limited-slip differential and axle vent tubes, Trail Control, distinctive 18-inch wheels, and the brand-new trail turn assist.
A little luxury can relieve all the stress of a grueling day. Super Duty trucks feature a completely remodeled interior for 2023, upping the overall detail and visual appeal. A center console slot will hold a tablet upright to make it easier to use. The optional 12-inch digital instrument cluster can be customized, and you can also add a wireless charging pad.
As on the 2022 edition, you'll find an 8-inch center display on the XL model and a 12-inch display on higher trim levels. The Max Recline seats that fold almost horizontally have been optimized for maximum comfort when you need a nap. You can also get up to four USB charging or connection ports. Other tech highlights include over-the-air upgrades, wireless Android Auto and Apple Car Play, and 5G connectivity.
Engineers concentrated on making all trim levels and models target low-end torque to make steep climbs and motorway on-ramps easier. The 6.8-liter V-8 gasoline engine is the standard engine for the Super Duty, delivering a minimum of 405 horsepower and 445 lb-ft of torque. The 7.3-liter V-8 is the next engine, and thanks to the better air intake and calibration, it boasts the best gas horsepower ratings at 430 and a new 485 lb-ft of torque, 10 more than 2022's torque output.
The 6.7-liter Power Stroke V-8 diesel, which can produce a maximum of 500 horsepower and potentially 1,200 lb-ft of torque, requires fewer oil changes and has improved exhaust manifolds, helping it reach the best heavy-duty ratings in its class.
For 2023, the suspension and brake systems have undergone adjustments that affect performance. This truck receives new rotors, calipers, and a six-piston hydraulic control unit to enhance its stopping power. Axles have been improved to accommodate more payload and towing capacity, and the new, more extensive rear axle ring gear measures 12.4 inches.
Ford proudly states that the 2023 Super Duty delivers "the best maximum tow rating for all types of trailering." The most astounding figure is the 40,000-lb capability when gooseneck towing with the F-450 max tow package and high-output diesel engine. With common towing, the F-450 can even tow up to 35,000 lbs or 25,000 with the diesel engine and no special packages.
