Fried chicken never goes out of style, whether you prefer it served spicy hot, or mild and crisp. So if you're looking for a place to get a lightly breaded chicken breast, some "Nashville-Style" chicken fingers, or just a simple fried chicken sandwich, Dallas has several eateries to choose from.

Stop in at Whistle Britches, where the chicken is brined in pickle juice before it's coated in batter and fried. Next, try the Don Chingon, a crispy chicken sandwich served on a brioche bun and topped with queso, smoked bacon, caramelized onion, and pickled jalapenos. If you're not in the mood for a sandwich, check out the Love Me Tender meal, which consists of four crispy tenders, a biscuit, and potato salad. For the full dining experience, add a savory side, such as some garlic butter fries or sour cream and scallion potato salad.
In addition, Whistle Britches has an extensive drink menu featuring a variety of craft beers and cocktails and an extensive wine list. If you'd prefer a non-alcoholic beverage, choose from brown sugar lemonade, Topo Chico, and soda. After your meal, peruse the considerable coffee menu, which includes lattes, cappuccinos, espressos, and more. Whistle Britches serves brunch on the weekends from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is open seven days a week. Its lunch and dinner hours vary, so check the website before you go. Celebration Restaurant prides itself on creating a warm, inviting atmosphere for its guests to enjoy and is an excellent spot for a date night or a family get-together. Its menu features sustainably sourced, pasture-raised chicken from Perdue Farms and locally sourced, free-range, grass-fed beef from Springerhill Ranch. In addition, all menu items are prepared free from high fructose corn syrup, artificial sweeteners, artificial colors, nitrates, and preservatives.
Check out the menu and choose from items such as the Chicken Fried Chicken, a chicken breast breaded, fried to order, and served with jalapeno cream or traditional gravy. Next, take a look at the Chicken St. Caroline, a grilled or fried chicken breast topped with melted mozzarella cheese and a white wine mushroom sauce.
Celebration has an extensive food allergy menu, including gluten-free and lactose-free items. The menu also alerts guests to items containing nuts and MSG, making it a friendly dining establishment for those with food sensitivities and allergies. In addition to its food allergy menu, Celebration also has lunch, dinner, and bar menus. It's located at 4503 West Lovers Lane, and its hours vary throughout the week, so check the website when making plans.
Bubba's Cooks Country is a retro-style diner serving classic comfort food and specializing in fried chicken. Using only high-quality ingredients, Bubba's prepares its menu items fresh daily in small batches. Every meal is served with a side and a yeast roll. In addition to fried chicken, Bubba's also serves catfish, grilled chicken, and chicken and dumplings. Sides include several types of veggies, including candied yams, corn on the cob, green pea salad, and more. The dessert menu features cherry cobbler, banana pudding, and apricot fried pie for those with a sweet tooth.
Bubba's serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner and is open from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. It's located at 6617 Hillcrest Ave. A second location, about 25 miles away in Frisco, is located at 4585 Preston Rd. and is open from 6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
Ricky's Hot Chicken pays homage to "Nashville-style" hot chicken and serves Halal chicken that is prepared in a peanut- and dairy-free environment. Ricky's hand breads every piece of chicken it serves and sources most ingredients from local businesses. Check out the menu, and choose from chicken fingers, wings, and tenders, or opt for the "quarter bird," which is a chicken leg and thigh. Every meal comes with bread, pickles, fries, and a drink. For a special treat, visit on the weekend for a serving of chicken and waffles.
Ricky's is open Thursday-Monday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for lunch and from 4-7 p.m. for dinner. It's located at 100 S. Central Expressway in Suite 18.
Roots Chicken Shak fries its chicken in duck fat and serves it in various ways. Try the Big Bird, Roots' original chicken sandwich served on a sweet potato bun with seasonal kale and topped with pickles, red onion, and herb mayonnaise. Several salads are on the menu as well, including the Barnyard Cobb, a kale salad topped with chicken fingers, pickled peppers, tomatoes, and onions. Finally, enjoy a classic southern beverage, such as mint tea or a house-made soda with your meal.
Roots is open Sunday-Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Thursday-Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. It's located in nearby Plano inside Legacy Hall at 7800 Windrose Ave.
Visit Street's Fine Chicken for classic soul food and craft cocktails. Street's features brined and fried chicken and several starters and sides. Choose from menu items such as the buttermilk chicken fried steak, an 8-ounce cutlet dipped in buttermilk, and fried to perfection. In addition to chicken, Street's also serves salads, meatloaf, pork chops, and shrimp and grits. Sides include items such as apple jicama slaw, tabasco cheddar goat cheese grits, and black eyes peas.
Street's has two locations: 5211 Forest Lane in North Dallas and 3857 Cedar Springs Rd. in Uptown. The Forest Lane location is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., while the Cedar Springs location is open during the week from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and on the weekends from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
